STASIK TOKAREV
Stanislav Tokarev Assatiani ‘Stasik T’ was born in Nalchik, Russia in 1985, later at the age of 5 he moved to Mexico City, and it is the point from which he started in the musical world from the age of 13 years old, when he studied at ‘Escuela Superior de Música’ or Superior Musical School, learning about all those elements from musical theory, as well as piano classes and transverse flute, but later on his path of life changes a little bit in 2001, when he meets electronic music thanks to his older brother and with the help of artistic trends such as Psychedelic Trance, Progressive House and Trance included, mainly taking inspiration from Pink Floyd, John Digweed and Sasha to name a few; and so with this path Stasik decided to learn how to become a Disc Jockey.
After many years of training, practice and gathering knowledge, Stasik began his professional career in 2005 as a DJ when he applied for a national competition from an independent agency with another friend and DJ of his ‘The Mind/Mindmusik’ Rodrigo Márquez, with the privilege of winning it, together they Warmed Up for the international artists from Trance: Menno de Jong and The Thrillseekers.
During this gig they immediately got spotted by one of the producers of the event, and he offered them a weekly residency at the ‘Ktdral’ Club in Mexico City, and after a short time they started ‘The Lifeline Collective’ alongside ‘Puuc’ Rafael Navarro, another great DJ, and so they went on playing at many different places in the city, such as the now deceased Continental DJ Club sharing the DJ booth with important national artists like Fernando Calvillo, Alain & Gudiño, G-Mind and Carlos G; in addition they played at Bar House, Hookah Lounge and Hookah Darhom, Hookah from Satelite, Dobby Club, Aggressor, Underground, Liverpool 100, Club Terraza Uroboros, and several more, together and in a separate way.
Also, Stasik has shared the DJ Booth with international artists such as Lee Burridge, Simon & Shaker, Francis Davila, Jeff Bennett; and more recently 2011 and 2012 Stasik did Warm Up’s for Pole Folder at Habita Hotel, Darren Emerson and Carlo Lio at Premier Club (former Roots Club), and as well as for Oliver Lieb at Hookah Lounge from Condesa.
Mixing the sounds from the ranges and likes of Deep, Funky, Vocal, Minimal, Tech, Progressive and Techno, making it a hybrid and unique style, Stasik likes to manage the way of defying the many genres and styles, and not only be pigeonholed in one. Quality, simplicity and the special touch are the elements that matter in his gigs and presentations.
Nowadays, finally after releasing in 2010 his debut EP entitled “Pathology Of Nature” at the label ‘CE Records’, Stasik is working on music in his own way giving it the shape he desires, as well as paving the way for his future to reach the best quality in his original productions and his mixing skills, always improving at the decks with exceptional character.
Stasik currently has under his belt several original productions in labels as BC2 Records, Massive Harmony Records, Incepto Music, Abstract Space Records, CE Records, Tenebrae, Stripped Digital and XOOD Records, and has co-worked with various artists such as Mindmusik, Puuc, Vladd, Henry CE, Mayak, Enrique Calvetty, Keinke, Nathan Jo, and Hugo Ibarra.
